Key Responsibilities


The tasks for this role are diverse. For instance, you will:

  • Advise on nonprofit compliance under federal and state laws.
  • Draft, negotiate, and review essential legal documents.
  • Evaluate organizational risk and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Work with external counsel globally.
  • Provide guidance on international regulatory issues.
  • Advise on employment and labor matters.
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. and international privacy laws.
  • Develop and deliver training sessions for staff.

 

Qualifications for remote Legal Jobs

 


  • Education & Certification: To begin with, you must have a Juris Doctorate (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school. Similarly, you need an active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
  • Experience: In other words, we require at least 6 years of legal practice in nonprofit law. This can be with a law firm or as in-house counsel. Experience advising on compliance and international legal frameworks is also required.
  • Preferred: Furthermore, we prefer candidates with experience in legal risk management and nonprofit governance. A background in environmental or climate-related organizations is also a plus.

 

Compensation & Benefits


  • Salary: The salary for this remote legal job is $165,000–$175,000 annually in the Bay Area and NYC. On the other hand, it is $155,000–$165,000 for other U.S. locations.
  • Benefits: A comprehensive benefits package is included. Therefore, it offers health, dental, and vision insurance. It also provides a generous PTO structure. You also get a 401k plan with a 9% employer contribution.
