About This Renewable Energy Advisor Role
As a Home-Based Partnerships Advisor (Renewable Energy), you will, first and foremost, report directly to the Head of Partnerships for EAPMCO. Specifically, your primary focus will be to provide expert guidance, technical input, and innovative practices to expand and position UNOPS’ renewable energy portfolio in Indonesia. Furthermore, you’ll also contribute as needed to efforts in other Southeast Asian countries, all within the context of the Financing for Development (FfD) agenda.
Moreover, this retainer contract offers a one-year duration with the possibility of extension, thus providing flexibility while simultaneously making a significant impact.

What You Will Do as a Renewable Energy Advisor
Under the supervision of the Head of Partnerships, the Partnerships Advisor will undertake several key responsibilities. Firstly, you will provide expert guidance and strategic advice on the development and positioning of UNOPS’ renewable energy portfolio. Secondly, you will offer technical input and innovative practices to expand our impact in low-carbon development and energy transition. Thirdly, you will contribute to financing for development (FfD) initiatives related to renewable energy across Southeast Asia. Furthermore, you will identify and cultivate key partnerships with governments, private sector entities, and other stakeholders. Ultimately, your efforts will support the achievement of ambitious SDG7 and climate targets in Indonesia and the wider region.
Competencies We Are Looking For in a Renewable Energy Advisor
We are seeking a professional who demonstrates several key competencies. Specifically, you should be able to develop and implement sustainable business strategies, thus demonstrating long-term thinking. Moreover, you must exhibit strong partnership-building skills and an ability to foster collaboration. Crucially, you should possess deep technical expertise in renewable energy technologies (geothermal, solar, wind, hydro, and emerging clean energy). Beyond that, an ideal candidate is an innovative thinker with a proactive approach to problem-solving. Finally, you must demonstrate excellent communication and influencing abilities.
Education & Experience Requirements
Regarding qualifications, Education: an Advanced University Degree (Master’s degree) in a relevant field is required. As for Experience: significant experience in renewable energy project development, partnerships, or advisory roles is essential. In terms of Language: fluency in English is a prerequisite; additionally, knowledge of Bahasa Indonesia is considered a valuable asset.
