Key Responsibilities for this Policy Specialist Role

You will take on significant responsibilities in this vital government programs policy specialist role. Expect to:

  • Monitor, distribute, interpret, and analyze a high volume of new laws, regulations, and guidance specifically applicable to designated business units.
  • Next, track, monitor, and assess pending legislation and regulations for their potential impact on the organization.
  • Subsequently, coordinate, collaborate with, and guide MetroPlusHealth departments through the implementation of impactful regulatory and legislative changes.
  • Additionally, complete timely research for regulatory questions concerning department processes, policies, procedures, or materials for applicable business units.
  • Respond to requests for regulatory guidance; this includes conducting thorough research, answering questions, and providing clear clarification on new rules, regulations, and/or administrative directives.
  • Furthermore, develop comprehensive guidance for other departments on contract obligations, broken down by line of business.
  • Support the regular development and review of Regulatory and Compliance policies and procedures for the general operation of the Plan’s business. This is a core duty for any government programs policy specialist.
  • Beyond that, contribute quality and timely data for materials prepared for both the Internal Compliance Committee Meetings and the Audit and Compliance Subcommittee of the Board of Directors.
  • Develop workplans and monitor progress for all regulatory-based requests.
  • Finally, perform other duties as assigned or requested.

Minimum Qualifications for a Government Programs Policy Specialist

To qualify for this Government Programs Policy Specialist role, you must possess:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree.
