Key Responsibilities for This Global Funding Manager Role
As a Global Funding Manager, your main responsibilities include:
- Developing and managing a robust pipeline of major donors and trust/foundation prospects globally. Specifically, your focus will be on securing six-to-seven figure, multi-year commitments.
- Collaborating closely with Amnesty International Sections. Crafting compelling co-funding proposals for international and regional human rights programs.
- Cultivating and stewarding long-term relationships with key philanthropic stakeholders and funding partners. This, in turn, ensures sustained engagement and support crucial for a successful Funding Manager.
- Providing expert strategic guidance on emerging donor trends. Offering advice on ethical fundraising practices and compliance with diverse funding requirements.
- Partnering with Amnesty’s fundraising teams in priority markets. Identifying and unlocking philanthropic potential. As a result, fostering significant growth in grant income.
- Leading and supporting comprehensive grant management systems. This, for instance, encompasses budgeting, reporting, monitoring, and evaluation.
- Delivering tailored support and mentorship to Amnesty Sections. This, consequently, strengthens their high-value fundraising capacity and expertise.
- Overseeing all high-value Fundraising Investment Fund (FIF) grants across assigned regions. Drive the strategic and effective utilization of investment resources. This is a core function for any effective Funding Manager.
Skills and Experience Required for a Global Funding Manager
We are seeking a highly experienced professional with:
- Proven success in securing large-scale restricted funding or major gifts (exceeding £1M+). A demonstrable track record of achieving ambitious income targets is, furthermore, absolutely essential for a Global Funding Manager.
- Extensive experience in building and stewarding donor relationships. This should ideally be within an international NGO or social enterprise context.
- Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of the global philanthropic landscape. Possess, moreover, a strong ability to identify and cultivate new funding opportunities effectively.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. These are, indeed, crucial for producing highly persuasive funding proposals and insightful donor reports.
