As a Digital Accessibility Content Consultant, your primary objective involves developing a comprehensive e-learning course and delivering a complementary webinar focused entirely on digital accessibility. This course, therefore, will significantly increase awareness and provide practical skills on how to improve digital accessibility for individuals with disabilities. Furthermore, the webinar will offer a dynamic platform for live interaction, discussion, and deeper learning on best practices, tools, and regulations in accessibility.

You will ensure that both the course content and the webinar are meticulously designed for full accessibility. Ultimately, your work empowers participants with the necessary skills and knowledge to implement accessibility improvements across various digital platforms.

Key Services and Deliverables for this Remote Consultant Role

 

As our Digital Accessibility Content Consultant, you will develop the e-learning course and webinar content. You’ll concentrate on these crucial areas:

  • Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG): In-depth coverage and practical application.
  • Practical Skills: Techniques for making digital platforms more accessible.
  • Accessibility Tools, Regulations, and Compliance: Understanding and implementing key standards.
  • Case Studies and Examples: Showcasing accessible digital platforms.

Specifically, here are the detailed deliverables and outputs for this consultancy:

 

E-Course Development Phases (Due 30 October 2025)

 

  • Sub-Deliverable 1.1: Initial Course Design and Development. You will design and develop a comprehensive e-learning course on digital accessibility. This includes creating the course script, recording voiceovers, sourcing visuals, and completing full production in Articulate Rise or Storyline. Additionally, you’ll prepare one detailed storyboard outlining the structure and modules. Consult key stakeholders and incorporate their feedback through two rounds of review for this initial phase.
  • Sub-Deliverable 1.2: Core Content & Script Production. The course will cover key accessibility principles, guidelines (emphasizing WCAG), tools, and techniques for improving digital accessibility on platforms and services. You will prepare a complete script, including all narration. Conduct two subsequent rounds of consultation and feedback with stakeholders on this draft.
  • Sub-Deliverable 1.3: E-Course Production & Revisions. The content should remain engaging, interactive, and easily understandable for a broad audience. You will produce the e-course in Articulate Rise or Storyline, incorporating visuals, screen casts, and voiceover. Conduct two further rounds of revisions based on feedback before finalizing.
  • Sub-Deliverable 1.4: Accessibility Validation & LMS Integration. You must ensure the course offers full accessibility (e.g., captioning, screen-reader friendly) to meet the needs of learners with disabilities. Finally, you will upload the finalized e-course to UNICEF’s internal LMS and document its structure for ongoing maintenance.

 

Webinar Development and Delivery (Due 15 November 2025)

  • Sub-Deliverable 2.1: Webinar Plan and Materials. You will develop a detailed plan, agenda, and all materials for a live webinar on digital accessibility. Importantly, this should align specifically with the e-learning course content.
  • Sub-Deliverable 2.2: Webinar Delivery. You will deliver the webinar, focusing on practical examples, tools, and best practices for improving digital accessibility.
  • Sub-Deliverable 2.3: Interactive Engagement. You must ensure the webinar offers strong interactivity, providing ample opportunities for participants to ask questions and engage in discussions during the live session.

 

Content Review and Integration (Due 20 November 2025)

 

  • Sub-Deliverable 3.1: Stakeholder Alignment. You will work closely with relevant stakeholders (e.g., digital platforms, web development teams) to ensure the course and webinar content remain accurate, up-to-date, and fully aligned with UNICEF’s broader digital accessibility goals.
  • Sub-Deliverable 3.2: Feedback Incorporation. You will thoroughly review and actively incorporate feedback from stakeholders to ensure content relevance and clarity across all materials.

 

Final Deliverables (Due 10 December 2025)

 

  • Sub-Deliverable 4.1 (E-learning Course): Provide a fully developed, accessible e-learning course that aligns with WCAG standards. It must include interactive modules, assessments, and clear instructional materials.
  • Sub-Deliverable 4.2 (Webinar Presentation): Deliver a live, recorded webinar session, including presentation slides and any supplementary materials (e.g., resources, toolkits).
  • Sub-Deliverable 4.3 (Reports and Documentation): Submit a comprehensive summary report on the e-learning course development process and webinar delivery. This report should include participant feedback, participant metrics, and clear recommendations for future improvements.

 

What You’ll Bring as an Accessibility Content Consultant

 

Education:

  • You should hold a university degree in Digital Accessibility, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Information Technology, Web Development, or a related subject.

Knowledge/Expertise/Skills:

  • Professional Experience: You must possess a minimum of 5 years’ experience in digital accessibility, which notably includes a strong understanding of WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines), e-learning courses, webinars, and other training materials, with a focus on accessibility or related fields.
  • Communication and Collaboration Skills: Possess excellent communication, collaboration, planning, and organizational skills, along with a proven ability to work effectively with diverse teams. You must demonstrate strong attention to detail and ensure accuracy in content development and delivery consistently.
  • Digital Accessibility Knowledge: Show proven expertise in ensuring both e-learning courses and webinars offer full accessibility to individuals with various disabilities. All materials must consistently meet accessibility standards and be provided in accessible formats (e.g., audio descriptions, captions, and accessible documents).
  • Alignment with UNICEF’s Digital Accessibility Goals: You must demonstrate the ability to work closely with UNICEF’s Digital Governance and Platforms team. This ensures the content of the e-learning course and webinar aligns with the organization’s digital accessibility goals and strategies seamlessly.
  • Remote Work Experience: Display a proven ability to work independently and manage tasks remotely. You should have a consistent track record of maintaining communication and meeting deadlines in a virtual work environment.
  • Language Proficiency: Fluency in English is mandatory. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish) is a strong asset.
  • Work Experience: Proven experience working in a UN or NGO environment is a definite asset.

  • U.S. Visa Information: For non-US Citizens, G4 Visa, and Green Card holders, if you or your household members reside in the United States under a different visa, you will need to change your visa status to G4. Furthermore, the consultant’s spouse will require an Employment Authorization Card (EAD) to work, even if previously authorized.
