Associate Director, Development Technology Solutions (US-Based)

Based in San Francisco, CA, Washington, D.C., New York, NY, or remotely anywhere in the U.S., you’ll lead the implementation and ongoing management of our Salesforce CRM, including integrations and third-party solutions. Key Responsibilities: Advancing Development Technology

  • Product Vision & Strategy: Shape the long-term roadmap for our Salesforce CRM and related development technology solutions (e.g., event management, data strategy). You will furthermore ensure our tech stack aligns with Earthjustice’s objectives and fundraising goals, always seeking continuous improvement.
  • Salesforce Implementation & Management: Oversee the migration from Blackbaud eCRM to Salesforce NPSP/NPC. Furthermore, you’ll manage product backlogs, user stories, and ensure successful feature development and deployment. Your Salesforce Administrator skills will thus prove crucial here. This is central to our fundraising technology advancements.
  • Vendor & Developer Collaboration: Coordinate cross-departmental teams and external vendors. Implement Agile methodologies to ensure project delivery on time and to high quality. Moreover, you’ll serve as the liaison between leadership and technical teams, actively advocating for efficient workflows. This aspect involves significant development operations systems work.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate closely with internal teams and external partners. Then, translate needs into clear requirements, ensuring our CRM solutions maximize value for our organization and supporters. Effective communication is key for this nonprofit technology director role.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Supervise and mentor a growing team of business analysts, data analysts, and developers. Subsequently, foster a collaborative and inclusive environment where staff can thrive and contribute to our evolving technology suite.

What You’ll Bring: Your Expertise in Fundraising Technology

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in product management, with a strong focus on CRM, ERP, or CMS implementations.
  • At least 3 years of staff management experience preferred.
  • Salesforce expertise is required, with Salesforce Certified Administrator or comparable experience in Salesforce NPSP/NPC highly desirable.
  • Proven experience with database or CRM migrations and customizations.
  • Strong understanding of Agile project management and methodologies.
  • Excellent communication skills; you can effectively bridge the gap between technical teams and executive leadership.
  • Experience with data management and governance is also preferred.
