UNICEF is Hiring: GBViE Research Consultant
Are you a passionate and experienced professional dedicated to ending gender-based violence in emergencies? Do you have a strong background in feminist research and a strong desire to make a global impact? Ultimately, UNICEF is looking for a GBViE Research Consultant to join our Child Protection Section in New York. This is, in fact, a remote-based consultancy that will run from September 2025 to February 2026, with potential for travel to emergency-affected countries.
About the Role:
As the GBViE Research Consultant, you’ll be a key part of our mission to protect children and address GBV in some of the world’s most complex crises. Specifically, your work will focus on three key areas:
- Finalizing guidance on UNICEF’s GBViE research and impact evaluations.
- Developing up to five abstracts and other resources for the 2026 SVRI Global Forum.
- Providing technical expertise on global GBViE products, including advocacy notes and case studies.
What We’re Looking For:
To qualify, candidates must have an advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in public health, social work, political science, human rights, or a related field. Additionally, you should possess at least 8-10 years of humanitarian work experience in GBV programming, particularly in conflict or disaster-affected areas. Furthermore, you must demonstrate strong experience in conducting GBV-related research and impact evaluations, with a specific focus on feminist research approaches. We also require a solid understanding of GBV guiding principles and the survivor-centered approach, along with excellent drafting and communication skills.
