Senior Product Manager, Language and Product Localization
The Wikimedia Foundation is seeking an experienced Senior Product Manager to join the Product and Technology department. This senior product manager role focuses on a team that builds products and features for the multilingual Wikimedia sites, which serve over 1 billion people monthly across 300+ languages. As a localization product manager, you will drive meaningful product innovations that create visually rich, mobile-friendly, and multilingual workflows. The ultimate goal, consequently, is to maintain the multilingual strength of Wikimedia projects while simultaneously addressing knowledge inequity on the internet.

Remote Senior Product Manager
Responsibilities & Key Qualifications for a Senior Product Manager
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Developing and driving strategy for the user experience on Wikipedia, aligning with global trends in knowledge creation and consumption.
- Building the product roadmap and managing products through their full lifecycle, utilizing both qualitative and quantitative data to measure impact.
- Collaborating with a cross-functional team and a global community of volunteer members.
- Creating concrete proposals and making timely decisions through effective collaboration, data analysis, and feedback.
- Becoming an expert in the goals and challenges of users joining the Wikipedia community from different backgrounds, geographies, and experiences.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
- 3 to 5 years of demonstrable experience as a product manager or in an equivalent role.
- Proven success in growing a new user base or launching new products.
- Expertise in user-facing products, mobile application development, and mobile user experience.
- Proficiency with data, reporting, analytics, or A/B testing.
- Experience working in agile or iterative software development environments with cross-functional teams.
- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant work experience.
Additionally, we’d love it if you have:
- Enthusiasm for user communities and open-source projects.
- Experience with products backed by machine learning.
- Experience editing Wikipedia or contributing to other wiki projects.
- Fluency in languages other than English.

Compensation & Location:
The Wikimedia Foundation is a remote-first organization with staff in over 40 countries. We offer competitive and equitable salaries. The anticipated annual pay range for applicants based within the United States is US167,564, as the final offer depends on multiple individualized factors, including cost of living in the location, and other determinants of the offered pay. For applicants outside the U.S., the pay range will, of course, be adjusted based on the country of hire.
We can currently hire in a specific list of countries, including the United States. As a result, applicants for this Senior Product Manager role should be based in a location with a time zone between UTC+0000 and UTC+0530 to ensure sufficient overlap with the rest of the team.
