HR Business Partner | RTI International (Remote/Raleigh-Durham)
RTI International is seeking an experienced HR Business Partner to support a large-scale, decentralized workforce across the U.S. This is a high-volume, high-turnover environment, so you must thrive in a fast-paced setting and feel confident managing employee relations at scale. Furthermore, this role is remote, but we are looking for a candidate local to our headquarters in Research Triangle Park, NC, who can come into the office as needed.
About the HR Business Partner Role
As the primary HR contact for a field-based workforce, you will provide comprehensive support to multiple client groups. Therefore, you will build trust, foster open communication, and serve as a key resource for staff and leaders. You will apply your HR expertise to drive organizational effectiveness, proactively address people-related challenges, and ensure the successful execution of HR initiatives.
What You’ll Do
- Manage Employee Relations: You will take charge of resolving high-volume employee relations issues, including misconduct cases such as falsification, misuse of funds, and no-call/no-shows. In addition, you will mediate difficult interactions and consult with leaders to address root causes. Your primary goal as an HR Business Partner is to solve these complex challenges.
- Support Talent & Leadership: You will collaborate with managers to implement company-wide programs, including workforce planning, talent management, and succession planning. Moreover, you will coach field supervisors and managers on best practices.
- Oversee HR Processes: You will handle essential HR activities, including onboarding and offboarding. Subsequently, you will implement and communicate corporate policies to employees, ensuring alignment with management’s review.
Qualifications for

HR Business Partner
- Experience: You must have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree with 8 years of HR experience. Similarly, a master’s degree with 6 years or a PhD with 1 year of experience is acceptable.
- Skills: You must have extensive experience in performance management, employee relations, and leave management (ADA, FMLA). In fact, you must be confident in managing high-volume workloads and handling employee misconduct.
- Preferred: A SHRM-CP/SPHR certification or similar is a plus. Experience managing a retail, call center, or banking environment will also be helpful.
