Job Description Summary

The Department of Global Communications seeks a Web Development Consultant for a five-month remote assignment. This role reports to the Chiefs of the Climate Action and Peace and Security Sections. Consequently, it focuses on designing, implementing, and maintaining campaign websites.

Key Responsibilities & Contributions

This Remote Web Development Consultant designs, implements, and maintains dedicated websites for climate action and peace and security campaigns. Moreover, you’ll collaborate closely with Project Managers, UN Web Services, and the digital unit. In addition, your expertise guides website organization, structure, and layout. You’ll consider multilingualism and the Drupal migration process. Furthermore, this Web Development Consultant uploads English content, including text, images, and multimedia. Additionally, you create new webpages as needed, presenting layout options. Consequently, you also track English updates for language unit replication. Beyond this, additional assignments, including research and drafting for the website, may arise as Project Managers require.

  • Advise on website organization, structure, and layout, considering multilingualism and Drupal migration.
  • Upload English content (text, images, multimedia) to the websites.

  • Track English updates for replication by language units.
  • Undertake additional assignments, including research and drafting for the website.

Required Qualifications

  • A Master’s degree or equivalent is required.
  • You need at least five years of progressively responsible experience in web development and design.
  • Experience with web development and design is essential.
  • You must have experience using the Drupal CMS system.
  • Fluency in oral and written English is required.
  • Experience working with UN websites is desirable.
  • Knowledge of digital design tools is desirable.

This is a five-month, remote consultant position based in the USA.
