About This Planning Monitoring Assistant Role

As a Planning Monitoring Assistant, you’ll report directly to the Programme Planning Specialist within the Planning, Monitoring, and Evaluation (PME) Section. Specifically, your main focus will be supporting the management and quality assurance of program implementation for the UNICEF Tunisia country office.

This National UN Youth Volunteer assignment lasts 12 months, starting July 14, 2025. It’s supported by the Swiss Embassy in Tunisia as part of an initiative to strengthen youth inclusion, with a special focus on young people with disabilities. What You Will Do as a Planning Monitoring Assistant

Working under the Programme Planning Specialist, the Planning Monitoring Assistant will handle several key duties. First, you’ll help the PME section with creating and tracking yearly work plans, including progress reports for reviews. Also, you’ll assist with inter-agency planning and reporting when needed. Next, you’ll support the country program’s planning process for 2026-2030. Furthermore, you’ll help develop and update emergency plans for the Tunisia office.

Critically, you’ll collect, analyze, and visualize data (using tools like PowerBI) for key program and management indicators to guide decisions. In addition, you’ll help program sections track and report on overall program results effectively. You’ll also assist with monitoring the Integrated Monitoring and Evaluation Plan (IMEP). Finally, you’ll prepare and present program data reports for leaders and other key groups, and give technical and administrative support throughout the evaluation process.

Education & Experience Requirements

For qualifications: Education: A Bachelor’s degree or similar in Project Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation, Data Science, Social Sciences, Business Administration, or a related field is a must. For Experience: A maximum of one (01) year of relevant experience is preferred. Working at the UN or an international development group before is a plus.

Regarding Languages: You must be fluent in Arabic, French, and English.
