Key Responsibilities: Driving Effective Donor Communications

  • Donor Communications Strategy: First, you’ll source the best of CARE’s work for our high-net-worth audience. Then, you’ll craft compelling stories, visuals, and content. Moreover, you’ll create engaging and creative donor communications, report summaries, invitations, and updates. Ultimately, you’ll help tell the story of how donors impact people in a variety of formats, speaking to different audiences. Additionally, you’ll manage the annual calendar for major donors and prospects, demonstrating your expertise as a Donor Communications Manager. Finally, you’ll coordinate the team’s fundraising efforts, including campaigns, emergency appeals, and timely updates.
  • Collaborative Donor Engagement: Initially, you’ll partner with teams across CARE (Marketing, Events, Office of the President, Programs, etc.) to identify opportunities for building relationships with key donors, advisors, and investors. Subsequently, you’ll collaborate with the Marketing team on communications during CARE events, donor travel, and other meetings. In addition, you’ll work with the Grants Management and Resource Development Content teams to provide timely and compelling impact reports, showcasing your skills as a Donor Communications Manager. Finally, you’ll serve as the primary point of contact for fundraisers who need collateral, impact reports, and other resources.

Qualifications: Your Expertise in Donor Communications

  • Experience: You’ll need a minimum of 3 years of professional experience in donor communications, strategic communications, or major donor stewardship.
  • Skills: We’re looking for exceptional writing and editing skills. Furthermore, you should be a creative thinker with an entrepreneurial mindset. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously are crucial. Moreover, you’ll demonstrate excellent diplomacy and negotiation skills, working collaboratively across teams with patience, enthusiasm, and confidence, particularly in fundraising communications.
  • Passion: An interest in international issues, global development, or foreign affairs is highly valued. Ultimately, you’ll exercise strong judgment and discretion, and effectively interact with senior leaders and staff at all levels of the organization. Experience working with high-net-worth individuals and family philanthropists is preferred.
