The Need: Expanding Our Impact to Protect 500 Million

For over 25 years, IJM has steadfastly pioneered the work to protect vulnerable people from violence. Notably, 9 out of 9 times in the last decade, IJM’s Justice System Strengthening Projects have successfully reduced slavery and violence between 50 and 85% for very large populations of people in poverty. As we meticulously grow to expand our impact to protect 500 million people from violence, we are now seeking a Head of Artist Partnerships, North America Brand Partnerships.

This Head of Artist Partnerships position specifically leads IJM’s relationships with music artists, tours, and industry professionals. Its primary goal is to raise critical funds and acquire new supporters across the North America region.

This position is hybrid (onsite Tuesdays & Thursdays) if located in the Washington, DC area. Alternatively, it is available as a fully remote role for non-local candidates across the USA. It reports directly to the Regional Director, Brand Partnerships, North America, and is, furthermore, only available for candidates with the right to work in the US.


Responsibilities For Head of Artist Partnerships

As the Head of Artist Partnerships, your responsibilities will be diverse and impactful, encompassing leadership, strategy, and extensive networking.

Leadership and Management: Guiding the Artist Function

  • Strategy Development: First and foremost, you will lead strategy development for the artist function, in partnership with the Regional Director of Brand Partnerships and in close collaboration with other members of the artist team.
  • Portfolio Management: You will establish and develop a personal portfolio of artists, musician tours, and events throughout North America. This portfolio is expected to raise $1 million plus per year in recurring revenue from tours.
  • Partnership Execution: Moreover, you will execute partnerships to drive awareness and revenue across the region. This includes implementing earned partnership strategies that will lend to best-in-class NGO program reputation.
  • Team Alignment: You will lead weekly meetings with the artist pod team to align on reaching artist goals across the function.
  • Reporting: Furthermore, you will report to leadership on metrics and KPIs across your artist portfolio.
  • Leadership Participation: You will sit on the Brand Partnerships leadership team to represent the artist team.
  • Culture Building: Beyond that, you will build culture and collaboration across the artist team.
  • Initiative Support: Lastly, you will support the Regional Director, Brand Partnerships in the development and management of key initiatives.

 

Strategy & Knowledge Development & Implementation: Shaping Future Growth

  • Metric Development: You will develop the metrics and KPIs that ladder into goals provided by the US & CA leadership teams.
  • Expert Positioning: Furthermore, you will position Regional and Country leaders as the readily recognized experts, network leaders, and trusted local partners in leading the movement to end slavery and violence around the world.
  • Brand Empowerment: You will empower teams with a global brand framework and communication policies. These policies both preserve the core strengths of global consistency and provide freedom for local contextualization.

Networking & Partnership: Building Bridges for Justice

  • New Partnerships: You will lead in the formation of new and diverse partnerships within North America, specifically allowing for IJM to build bridges for the future.
  • Activation: Moreover, you will activate new and innovative country or regional partnerships via networking and relationship management with a select group of partners.
  • Culture of Bridge-Building: Finally, you will inspire and drive a culture of world-class bridge-building across the IJM North America regional team. This cuts through the noise to create impactful IJM moments within pre-existing platforms.

Communication: Engaging and Equipping

  • Best Practices: You will work collaboratively with other members of the partnership team to develop best practices and key learnings.
  • Influencer Trips: Additionally, you will develop and manage a newly forming artist/influencer trip to ensure this is an influencer-led movement.
  • Resource Development: Furthermore, you will work with Program Operations teams to proactively develop the best resources needed to leverage partner relationships.

Policies and Procedures: Ensuring Operational Excellence

 

  • Budget Management: You will accurately forecast and achieve revenue and expense budgets.
  • Data Management: Moreover, you will ensure data capture and hygiene that drives effectiveness and learning.
  • Donor Experience: Finally, you will ensure excellence in the donor journey and experience, yielding industry-leading retention and passionate engagement.

Qualifications: What You Bring to this Artist Partnerships Role

Education & Experience

  • You must possess 7+ years of experience leading fundraising teams or strategies.
  • Preferred experience includes 5+ years of people management and development.
  • Preferred experience also includes music industry expertise or relationship management with artists.
  • Desired location is Nashville, for this crucial Head of Artist Partnerships role in the USA.

Technical Competencies

  • You must be a proven fundraiser.
  • Event experience is essential.
  • You should be an expert in marketing.
  • Furthermore, you must have an understanding of all platforms used for mass campaigns (digital, web, print, etc.).
  • Strong written and oral communication skills are crucial.
  • Ability to make an on-stage appeal is preferred.
