About Your Role as Coordinator, Tent U.S.

As the Coordinator, Tent U.S., you’ll provide crucial support to ensure Tent effectively supports our 200+ member companies within the Tent U.S. Coalition. These companies work to hire, train, and mentor refugees across the nation. Your work will, therefore, involve managing relationships with both national and local non-profit partners who refer refugees for employment and mentorship opportunities with our member companies. Furthermore, you’ll lead the implementation of Tent’s refugee mentorship program in the United States, handling all operational aspects, ranging from engaging participating companies to recruiting refugee mentees and matching them with mentors. This makes you a key Refugee Support Coordinator for our team, and an integral part of the Tent U.S. operations.

This Coordinator role is an ideal fit for someone with 2-3 years of work experience, particularly in non-profit or private sector project management and partnerships. You’ll report directly to the Tent U.S. Country Director.

Key Responsibilities for the U.S. Coordinator

NGO Engagement: Building Our Network

  • Collaborate with the U.S. Director to oversee Tent’s relationships with non-profit partners throughout the country. This includes national and local refugee-serving nonprofits and community groups that can, ultimately, refer refugees in their networks for employment and mentorship by our member companies.
  • Pitch Tent initiatives to non-profits on 1-on-1 calls and large-scale virtual webinars, thereby showcasing how we can help their refugee clients advance their careers.
  • Identify and engage new non-profit partners that can help advance Tent’s goals across the USA. This aspect is vital for any Nonprofit Project Coordinator.
  • Maintain and update Tent’s U.S. directory of non-profit contacts, ensuring accuracy at all times.

Company Engagement for Mentorship: A Partnership Coordinator’s Focus

  • Support coordinators at member companies responsible for recruiting their employees to sign up as mentors for Tent’s mentorship program. You’ll serve as their primary point of contact for program implementation issues or questions, consequently streamlining their efforts.
  • Communicate relevant program updates to company coordinators, including programmatic timelines and updates on mentor sign-ups from their company.
  • Arrange and host quarterly calls with company coordinators to provide them with updates about the mentorship program, thus fostering ongoing engagement. Your expertise as a Partnership Coordinator USA will shine here, directly impacting our Tent U.S. initiatives.

Mentorship Program Implementation: Driving Refugee Employment

  • Provide essential operational support to Tent’s mentorship program, working closely with the Senior Manager for Global Mentorship Programs. This includes helping to maintain Tent’s digital mentoring platform and also contributing to the development and maintenance of tools and resources for mentors and mentees.
  • Monitor progress with recruiting mentors and mentees and help troubleshoot any gaps to stay on track with program goals, ensuring timely execution.
  • Coordinate outreach to non-profits to refer refugees to Tent’s mentorship program and develop toolkits to assist non-profits with this outreach. This is a core function of a Mentorship Program Coordinator.
  • Oversee the precise process of matching mentors and mentees based on similar professional interests, which requires careful attention.
  • Help manage relationships with external organizations that provide additional training and support to refugee mentees.

U.S. Team Support: Ensuring Smooth Operations for the Coordinator

  • Attend, take notes, and relay summaries from calls with external partners.
  • Regularly update and maintain data for the U.S. team, including, for example, updating spreadsheets and Salesforce. This supports the overall function of the Coordinator, Tent U.S.
