Control Risks, a global specialist risk consultancy, is actively seeking a detail-oriented Business Continuity Specialist for a 6-month embedded consulting engagement. This exciting opportunity supports a leading global consumer goods client, and you can perform this role remotely.

As a Business Continuity Specialist, you will help strengthen the client’s resilience. For instance, you will review and enhance existing business continuity plans, facilitate risk assessments, and support continuity exercises across key business units. This position, therefore, demands a strong understanding of industry best practices, a proactive mindset, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.


 

Key Responsibilities of Our Business Continuity Specialist

 

As a Business Continuity Specialist, you will handle various critical tasks:

  • Resiliency Solutions: Assist with developing, maintaining, and implementing resiliency solutions, including business continuity plans, business impact analyses, and procedure documentation.
  • Strategic Improvement: Partner with critical business functions to identify opportunities for strategic improvement or mitigation of interruptions and other risks caused by business, regulatory, or industry-specific change initiatives.
  • IT Integration: Collaborate with the client’s IT teams to integrate business continuity processes and templates within their SmartSuite platform.
  • Reporting: Prepare reports that summarize testing activities, including descriptions of goals, planning, scheduling, execution, results, analysis, conclusions, and recommendations.
  • Project Support: Participate in supporting various other initiatives and ad-hoc projects to enhance overall business resilience.
  • Standard Alignment: Ensure alignment with recognized Business Continuity Planning (BCP) standards such as ISO22301, DRI, or Gartner.

Qualifications for a Business Continuity Specialist

 

To qualify for this Business Continuity Specialist role, you typically bring:

  • Experience: 6+ years of experience implementing and managing corporate business continuity or risk management programs.
  • Tools: Experience with commercial Business Continuity tools.
  • Data Management: Experience managing and analyzing data from various sources to align strategic goals.
  • Response: Experience responding to significant disruptive events.
  • Analytical Ability: You must possess the ability to dive deep into data, existing processes, people, and technology challenges to identify risks and opportunities.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, including the written and oral communication skills necessary to build relationships and positively influence decision-making.
  • Project Management: Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines while managing multiple complex projects.
  • Certifications (Plus): Disaster Recovery Institute International (DRII), Business Continuity Institute (BCI), or other business continuity professional certifications are a plus.

The salary range for this 6-month position will be between $55,000-$62,500.
