About the Malaria Team

Our Malaria Program Strategy Team (PST) invests in innovative solutions to reduce and ultimately eradicate malaria worldwide. The team focuses on:

  • Early investment in new health technologies and tools

  • Scaling innovations for rapid public health impact

  • Combating resistance to diagnostics, drugs, and insecticides

  • Supporting high-burden regions, especially in West and Central Africa

Role Overview

As a Strategy Officer, you will:

  • Report to the Senior Strategy Officer and collaborate with the Deputy Director for Strategy, Planning, and Management

  • Lead and support strategy projects using both qualitative and quantitative analysis

  • Synthesize insights and communicate with senior leadership and external partners

  • Develop and implement R&D strategies in digital health, vaccines, diagnostics, and vector control

  • Support planning and rollout of interventions in key countries

  • Contribute to team vision, training, and cross-functional initiatives

Term: Limited-term (36 months), on-site in Seattle, WA

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute strategy development for the malaria team

  • Partner with internal experts to co-develop and test strategies

  • Conduct data-driven analyses to inform decision-making

  • Manage projects and support cross-functional initiatives

  • Create communications for executive-level presentations

  • Contribute to team building, recruiting, and professional development

Sample Projects

  • Data analytics and scenario planning for public health interventions

  • Product strategy and pipeline planning for vaccines, drugs, and diagnostics

  • Health surveillance and intervention delivery improvement

  • Executive communications on strategy and progress

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required (STEM preferred); advanced degree (PhD, MPH) a plus

  • Minimum 4 years in management or healthcare consulting; 7+ years total experience preferred

  • Experience with global health, development, or pharma/biotech organizations

  • Strong analytical skills; proficiency in data visualization and statistical tools (e.g., Tableau, Stata)

  • Expertise in strategy development and complex project management

  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and organizational skills

  • Able to travel up to 20% domestically and internationally

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the US (no visa sponsorship)

Compensation

  • Salary range: $154,200 – $231,400 (Seattle/DC: $168,200 – $252,200)

  • Actual salary based on skills, experience, and qualifications
